an overview of a startlingly different approach to the task of making successful change to your mental-emotional life
(and keeping the change)

The whole of the affectology, Af-x and ECR movement is built on the scientifically proven proposition that there is MORE of you than just what you think or say: that hidden emotional drivers actually fashion our lives without our being conscious of that internal unconscious dynamic

Over more than thirty years of professional interaction with people who have sought ways to improve their lives or deal with (correct or 'heal') specific mental-emotional problems that are affecting them, we have learned one very important fact. And it is that,
for as many people as there are in the world, there are just as many ways that they want to 'be spoken to' when seeking help

This may seem self-evident, but let's look at that further ...
EXAMPLE ONE - EASY
We
affectologists think our message is critical, and super-important to those looking for help. To fully understand the significance of the affect landscape requires much technical information. As much as our message is important, it can fall on deaf ears for those of us who cannot absorb over-technical words and language, and would just wish we could be handed only essential info that can satisfy our curiosity.
Well, it's easier than it looks!
EXAMPLE TWO - THOROUGH
On the other hand, we affectologists know that fully understanding your human affect landscape can result in marginally better results and changes that are everlasting - that is, perpetual in the way they create a definitely different core emotional self. This is natural and rational. Some people, as a matter of their own style and character have a need to delve deeper - to understand more  in a way that assuages their need for fullness of detail.

If we take the two examples above, we can see that to try to 'force' detailed information on, say, the 'example one' on the left, would be to lose that person.Their reaction would probably be, "too much waffle." And that would be sad, because a short affectology program could very well turn their life around.

On the other hand, to try to over-simplify in what our culture describes as a concise promotional way, without substance, would result in 'example two's rejection because of a view that it's too simplistic and a little empty. This person needs a good dose of 'intellectual and technical heft' to give the idea plausibility and ensure they're not being sold a broomstick that cannot fly ( - a con).

Our aim, then, with this site is to enable the 'example one' person to perhaps scan the material, pass it over as being 'too much', yet still go on to do good therapeutic work with an affectological program, yet for us to provide a good amount of detail for the 'example two' person to satisfy their curiosity (or essential need for supporting substance).

So, the message is that there's plenty to read here if you want or need to do so, while those on a time-diet or whose character doesn't embrace 'fully knowing' can choose to bypass much of the content of this site.

there are more cogs and gears that make up your mind and whole self than you can ever imagine

selecting and reframing that one unseen gear is likely to change your whole life - for the better!

and keep the change!

We love to help people (you) get more knowledge about 'your backseat driver of the emotional mind' and take the path to making significant change to the inbuilt problems and gremlins!
Let's get started.

Inevitably, we have been conditioned in our culture to believe that the most important cog to 'who we are' is that one that reasons, thinks, talks and pushes us through acts of conscious will. It's not the case. The complexity of our unconscious parts that drive us, is a subject that is at once, seductive, and can be puzzling to those not aware of the affectological approach to understanding our minds and lives.

You can see from the menu at top left, that there is a wealth of material, some of which may interest you immensely. If you lean toward the 'example one' above, at least give it a go and see what might interest you. If nothing, that's OK; the affectological approach will still suit you.

If, on the other hand, you are an 'example two' type of person, then,"have at it," and if there is more information or detail you want that is not covered in this site, just contact us, and we'll help.

There's no real hierarchy of importance in these pages, but if you are a stickler for a 'totality of info' then you might like to start at 'What's Your Engine 1' and work through to '5'. Most of all, enjoy!
and welcome to the truth about your emotional unconscious!
